| 1. Click Start, then All Programs, then Accessories, then
Communications, and finally click on New Connection Wizard. You
should get a box that looks like this:

2. Click Next. You should get a box that looks like this:

3. Click on "Connect to the Internet", as indicated above, and
then click Next. You should get a box that looks like this:

4. Click on "Set up my connection manually", as indicated above,
and then click Next. You should get a box that looks like this:

5. Click on "Connect using a dial-up modem", as indicated above,
and then click Next. You should get a box that looks like this:

6. Enter "Thrift Internet" for ISP Name, as indicated above, and
then click Next. You should get a box that looks like this:

7. Enter your access number in the box indicated for Phone
number, as indicated above. If you aren't sure of your access
number please Click Here

In most cases you will simply enter the 7-digit access number.
However, if your phone company requires you to dial your area code
when calling local numbers then you must precede the access number
with the area code. Enter the access number exactly as if you were dialing the number with a
telephone.
If you have call-waiting you may wish to disable the call
waiting feature during online sessions. You can disable
call-waiting by preceding the access number with *70, (including
the comma). Do not use *70, if you do not have call waiting.
Click Next. You should get a box that looks like this:

8. Enter your entire email address into the field for "User
name", as indicated above (substituting your unique username for
"smith", of course). Also enter your Password, and enter the
password a second time in the Confirm password box. Leave all three
boxes at the bottom checked, as indicated above.
9. Click Next, and then click Finish. If you are asked if you
desire a shortcut for this dialer to be placed on the desktop,
click Yes. Your dialer is now configured, and will automatically
pop-up when you open Internet Explorer or Outlook Express.
