1. Be sure to enter your entire email address for your dialup username, not just the unique part to the left side of the "@" sign. Usernames are not case-sensitive at this time, but it is good practice to use all lower case letters. Passwords are case-sensitive, and must be entered exactly as they were created.
2. Try restarting your computer. Sometimes the Windows networking components don't load correctly so restarting your computer may help.
3. You may be experiencing a temporary outage in your area. Wait for 30 minutes and try again.
4. If you still are getting "bad username or password" errors then please call our support line to verify the standing of your account.

Frequent Disconnects, Low connect Speeds, Slow Browsing

All of the above problems are caused by either, 1) poor telephone line quality, or 2) an incompatible modem. If you have connected to another ISP at a good rate in the past then you can be pretty sure that your phone line is satisfactory and that the problem is probably the modem.

The incompatibility problem is caused by a 56K modem operating at some protocols well, but not V.90. All of our connections operate at either V.90 or V.92. Older ISPs operate using the X2, which may have given good results with your modem. Our modems are not backward compatible with X2 modems. Just because your modem says it is a V.90 modem doesn't guarantee that you will operate well with V.90. If you suspect that your modem could be incompatible, replace it!

Sometimes modems will suffer component degradation. If your modem worked well with us at one time but doesn't work well anymore, then this may be your problem. Again, replace the modem!

A word about AMD brand processors (Duron & Athlon processors). The only win-modems we have found that work well with AMD processors are the Lucent modems (now called Agere modems). You will not connect well with any other brand. Please call our support number for suggested vendors of Lucent/Agere modems since they sometimes can be found for under $10, but are often expensive ($40 or more) at local computer stores.
